Os AND ALSO THE TREES são uma banda inglesa formada em 1979, reconhecida como herdeira do espírito neo-romântico pós-punk. Com uma sonoridade melancólica e atmosférica, destacam-se pela guitarra distinta de Justin Jones e a voz intensa do seu irmão Simon Huw Jones. O grupo tem ligações históricas com os The Cure, que produziram o primeiro álbum em 1983 e os convidaram para abrir concertos, inclusive 30 anos depois. Inspirados pelas paisagens rurais de Worcestershire, criaram um universo lírico apreciado por fãs de bandas como Joy Division e Nick Cave. Em 2010 estrearam-se ao vivo em Portugal num concerto exclusivo do Fadeinfestival, precisamente no palco do Teatro José Lúcio da Silva. Em 2015 retornaram a Leiria para assinarem outro concerto mágico, desta vez no Palco Alma do festival Entremuralhas. Dez anos depois, a Fade In achou que estava na hora de os trazer a Portugal de novo. Na bagagem trazem alguns dos belos temas dos álbuns mais recentes (The Bone Carver, de 2022, e Mother-Of-Pearl Moon, de 2024) e, claro, muitos dos seus clássicos! Como sempre, imperdíveis ao vivo!

 

AND ALSO THE TREES are an English band formed in 1979, widely regarded as heirs to the neo-romantic post-punk spirit. Known for their melancholic, atmospheric sound, they are distinguished by Justin Jones’s evocative guitar work and the haunting voice of his brother, Simon Huw Jones. The band has long-standing ties with The Cure, who produced their debut album in 1983 and later invited them to open for their shows—most notably, three decades after their first collaboration. Drawing inspiration from the rural landscapes of Worcestershire, And Also The Trees have built a rich lyrical world that resonates with fans of Joy Division, Nick Cave, and similar artists. They made their Portuguese live debut in 2010 with an exclusive concert at the José Lúcio da Silva Theatre during the Fadeinfestival. In 2015, they returned to Leiria for another spellbinding performance, this time on the Alma Stage of the Entremuralhas Festival. A decade later, Fade In cultural association felt it was time once more. The band now returns with highlights from their recent albums—The Bone Carver (2022) and Mother-Of-Pearl Moon (2024)—alongside many of their timeless classics. As always, a must-see live band!
